  1. If you're designing a sports car for the 21st century, and using an internal combustion engine, ur doin it rong.

    Edit: from the comments:
    "
Their strategy and thinking is crystal clear; their customers buy these cars based on emotion and performance. Electric cars can only really deliver some of the performance element, but none of the emotion – I think a high revving screaming V12 has a visceral connection with our brain that an electric motor's whine cannot even allude to."

So, now IC engines are starting to be reduced to "appealing to emotion". Pro tip: loud noises don't turn your wheels.

    1. IC bigots. You can bet they would've said, "Motor racing will never produce the same excitement as watching thoroughbreds break from the gate." One ride in a Tesla would change their tune; the quiet rush of 0-rpm/peak torque is quite invigorating.

As everyone probably knows, Ferruccio Lamborghini made tractors before he made supercars, and still does.

    2. The purchase of a Lamborghini, or really any sports car, has never been a rational decision. That said, I welcome our new electric overlords. I enjoy the Formula E series, even without the screaming exhaust notes. Also, [Faraday, bitches!]

  2. I invested a small fortune on a forged rotating assembly in my 4.6L V8 Ford, and a couple of years later, Ford themselves came out with a flat-plane crank that puts out more HP naturally aspirated than mine does supercharged. It's amazing how hard they are fighting to keep IC relevant. And I'm loving it, to my shame.
