Hi folks!
If you hadn’t heard already, BlogAds, the company that has run Wonkville all this time, is killing the platform. So I made you this.
The concept is the same, you submit links, if we like you, they show up, then people comment on them. Some differences to keep in mind:
1- It will no longer automatically grab an image for you, but you can upload one of your own choosing.
2 – Yes, you can put almost anything in the username field, but if I don’t recognize it, I won’t approve it, so why bother?
3 – You can now post images in the ID comments.
4 – Your submissions will languish in the moderation queue until a moderator approves them, unless and until you have a small number of approved posts, then they will go right through.
5 – What is “a small number” anyways? It’s a secret. (It’s not a secret, it is three.) BUT! It goes by IP address, so that means three from work, three from home, three from the public library.
A few of you reached out when I asked for volunteers to be moderators. I will be contacting you shortly. Mostly your name will just turn blue in the comments. But also, you will be able to approve new submissions and approve pending comments. You will also be able to delete submissions and comments. Imagine the power!
So, anyhow, that’s all. I will do my best to continue my long standing policy of leaving Wonkville the fuck alone, y’all seem to get along just fine in here by yourselves…

I just noticed something even funnier®. When you check your IntenseDebate thread and click on the article someone has replied to one of your comments, it takes you directly back to the post and comment. Much better than trying to remember which post and scrolling through the feed.
I like the running column on the right of NewWV that shows you the 5 latest comments, with a link to the post(s), so you can see which story everyone is hanging out on.
