  1. So I really don't want to get everyone all sad, but this article completely missed why the road was called "Old Dixie Highway." It was actually originally part of an old north-south series of highways going from south Florida to Michigan and Chicago. Dixie Drive here in Dayton is also part of it.

      1. For the one time ever, yes. It was actually built kind of as a tourist thing to try to get midwesterners to visit Florida, amazingly enough.

        Of course, the losing their minds about a small section of it being named for Obama IS clearly hate, but I'm sure those idiots don't know where the highway name comes from either. They just see the word Obama and foam at the mouth.
