I would like to point out that I am NOT one of those fans. I like it when my team wins. If one of my team's rivals loses, then, yay! But I, personally, gain no sense of self.
Except for that 4th and 26 thing. That shit was hilarious. Everyone in Milwaukee was depressed.
by 2016 the Bears may not, either. Another year of guarantee and cap bite goes away this season, along with another year of looking at alternatives and/or drafting a replacement. If Jay doesn't produce this year he won't have either a coach or GM to protect him this time. The bad news is- he may not be the Bears' biggest problem this year, judging by preseason. The good news is- they may tank hard enough to get a decent draft pick next year.
I'd be surprised if he wasn't gone by 2016, really. If he's even close to last year's 24 turnovers he doesn't have a chance. I even thought the guy was good, but he just throws (and fumbles) the ball away far too much. And this coming from someone who dealt with Brett Favre for a long time.
Interestingly, he's been basically mistake free in the preseason. Fox seems to have him on a short leash. The question is- does that stifle his ability to play- does Jay need to be a gunslinger to be productive? He does have a bunch of natural talent, it's judgment and temperament that are questionable.
