987 mb low pressure, tons of moisture… So thankful that it's going to be warm enough for most of it to be rain. Seriously dodged a bullet with this one.
Seeing that Ohio has a county named "Licking," am reminded that there is a town in the Missouri Ozarks named Licking as well, and that it was the source of my all-time favorite inadvertently (maybe) dirty sports headline:
"Licking Boys, Girls Advance in State Tourney."
And look at the terrain surrounding the beautiful, meandering Big Piney River, which is nearby.
Some long summer evenings after a day's work at Fort Leonard Wood we'd get in the rental car and drive around with the windows down to feel the summer swelter, listening to Cardinals games and following old paved roads until they weren't paved, then had grass growing between the tire tracks, then dogs would come out and bark at the strangers.
When, as I did, you have to spend a lot of time at Fort Leonard Wood, you learn to make the most of it.

Reminder that Ohio license plates starting with CAT always come from Licking County.
Here's a view from an old Route 66 bridge over the Big Piney at Devil's Elbow.
