  1. The reporters had been asked this week to reapply for credentials, but none had signed a form authorizing a background check under a new House rule. The rule also barred reporters who had been convicted of certain crimes.

    “Our protection on the floor is utmost,” House Speaker David Gowan said to members during the morning session. He said, “I want to make sure you’re protected.”

    Um…unless these reporters were new to the beat, wouldn't the legislators recognize them and realize that they posed no threat? Or does the very act of reporting what the Arizona legislature is doing constitute a threat now?

    1. It makes it a tiny bit more difficult to push your fascist agenda on the people if somebody is there reporting on it. Ignorance is bliss for the masses!
