  1. Speaking of nothing, check out the Google Doodle for today. It is about Shakespeare, but one of the images in the doodle seems to be of Cthulhu. Is that some play I haven't heard of before?

    1. Welllllllllll, links tell me that Othello was based on a story by Cinthio, so maybe that's it.
[ also have two in the storage bin 'cause I'm still in timeout, svp ]

      1. Done.

My guess is that image depicts King Lear, who is probably the most Cthulhuish Shakespeare character. I doubt an Othello Cthulhu would have killed Desdemona. Devoured her, maybe. Along with Iago, the rest of the cast, the stage hands, the audience and the people in the Will Call booth.

          1. Yer old too, right?
Yeah, not sure if it was directly related to that, but crooking my hand like that wasn't helping. Alas, I was on my way from " That's horrific! Better to just drive over the guitar with a truck " to verging on " geez, you suck".
So will stick with keys only for now.

          2. I don't have any excuses, I just can't play anymore. That doesn't mean I won't try, though. Good thing I live alone.

  2. Do find it amazing that the concept of nothing took so long to distill after folks started trying to do the ciphering. Guess that is because the maths are hard.

  3. I was about to say that, no, doing arithmetic in Roman numerals is significantly harder than having to remember a few odd constants like 32 ft/s/s. I realised I've never tried to do arithmetic in Roman numerals. Now I want to write a Roman calculator. Or maybe there's an app already?
In elementary scool, I had to learn multipllication tables up to 12 times, because 12 pence to the shilling. Do Egyptian kids have to go up to 60 times?
