OK, so:
Sanders wants Barney Frank removed from the DNC Platform Committee because Frank was mean to him in 1991.
He wants Cornel West on the platform committee.
* The Democrats' greatest asset this year is President Obama, the extremely popular for a end-of-second-term President (do you miss George yet?), barnstorming around the country, campaigning for the democratic nominee, the continuation of his popular programs and Reason.
* Into this mix Sanders wants to throw a reactionary Ivory Tower crank who has a terribly coarse TV presence, isn't even a Democrat and hasn't had one supportive thing to say about Obama for almost his entire presidency.
*Replacing, of course, the successful and well liked retired Democratic Congressman with awe-inspiring debate skills who will go absolutely to the wall to elect a D and has so much Media savvy he plays every show he's invited on like a fine instrument.
Sure, that's not irresponsible, short sighted or ego driven at all.
Good–you can cover for me, as I'll be working all day on the get-out-the-vote drive on that day.
Ooh, good! Hoping California goes well, feeling good about it but every vote helps!
I have plenty ready for that day too. It'll be our last live thread for the primaries, after all.
Meh, Gore lost that 2000 election. His campaign was ill-managed and I don't think he even wanted to be POTUS. Instead of running with Clinton's success, he ran away from him and right into Rove's arms. And don't forget fucking Lieber-fucking-man was his running mate.
p.s. I posit this comment anytime "It was Nader's fault" comes up.
Yes Bern, Barney's sister Ann Lewis is a died-in-the-wool Clintonista since she left the ADA to go work in Bubba's White House, and some of that has rubbed off on her bro. But get over it! Your job now is to push for progressive planks in the platform. True, party platforms rank below Vice President and buckets of warm spit in terms of importance, but push those socialist planks just the same.
Speaking of moderation, is there any way my comment in the TehRump IT story can get approved quickly? It's in moderation for some reason, and I don't think it violated any rules. Thanks!
In the words of one of the
greatestgrating-est orators of our day, I advise Sanders to suck it up, cupcake. He needs to face some hard realities.Um, Bernie?

I can't really top that explanation so I'm just going to say good job and use a picture as my reply.

Exactly.
And, yes, 2000 still hurts and, yes, I still want badly to tolchock Nader right in the yarbles.
EDIT: That graphic deserves re-use. #saved
I fully expect to see it in the June 7 live thread at some point, I'm convinced at least one relevant moment will happen.

Fantastic gif! Saved for what I hope will be infrequent future use (i.e., only for another couple weeks.)

Well, he does want to nominate Bill McKibben to the Platform committee, so there's that.
No problem! I'm still confused. I just looked through the entire word spam list and I have no clue how that comment got caught up in moderation.

Done (people are commenting at me like right as I look for the first time in a while, you all have great timing today!)
Thanks snow!
