          1. AT 714 PM EDT…RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAIN
OVER THE ADVISORY AREA. RAINFALL OF 1 TO 2 INCHES CAN BE EXPECTED
            FROM THESE STORMS.

          2. It's just a bunch of rain with a bit of lightning here, amazingly enough. We just don't have enough forcing to get a big line, just a few embedded strong storms (like the earlier tornado warning that lasted like 10 minutes)

          3. That's a relief. The air's been so saturated here that I'm surprised we didn't get blowup thunderheads when the sun came out today.

Quiet here, for now. A good cell blew through the tidal Potomac at 5, with 30 kt winds and stuff, but that's long gone.

          4. Well if you want a less serious tropical thing to watch, check out what's in the northwest Caribbean. Could end up as a weak to moderate tropical storm heading northeast across Florida.

In Zambia, mole crickets are thought to bring good fortune, while in Latin America they are said to predict rain.

Neither of those are operative in Arizona, of course.

    1. I'd definitely go for it if Hillary came here for anything other than the debate. She hasn't been within an hour of Dayton yet, so it's a matter of waiting. Thanks for the tip about how to make the most of it!

It turns out that normal people won't be allowed in the debate in Dayton. Only media and students of the university will be in the crowd which is really annoying.

      1. Oh, I hadn't seen that site, cool find! I only knew about the debate in Ohio because it was all over the news when it was announced.
