  1. It's worth clicking through to the article to see pictures of how the large a draw the former sportsball star was at his pro-Drumpf rally in Boston.

  2. As I watch Curt Schilling recede from reality, I am reminded of | another pitcher | whose pitching skills I greatly admired, whose non-pitching skills are not so good. Sad. At least Lefty got out of the public eye.

  3. If he had half a cerebral cortex, he'd put whatever baseball goodwill he had in AZ to work for Trump- might not be quite the folk hero in AZ, but at least Trump's got a chance of being competitive there.

  4. Excellent pun-hed!

Why are we still surprised when people who are attractive or admirably adept at one thing or another prove to be disappointing as human beings?

    1. I'm not so surprised as much as disappointed. Something that can make someone fabulous at one pursuit can make their attempts at others difficult.

When I was in grad school, we had one incredibly cerebral young professor who the undergrads told us had said in class "statistical thermodynamics should be intuitively obvious", yet a friend and fellow grad student of mine observed other things about him. She told me one day "Professor [redacted] to me is living proof that if you're brilliant in one area, other parts of your personality/functioning start to suffer. I wonder if he could make change for the bus."

He later left for a think tank. Interacting with homo sapiens, especially the undergrad variety, was an effort for him.
