WASHINGTON — Phone records and intercepted calls show that members of Donald J. Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and other Trump associates had repeated contacts with senior Russian intelligence officials in the year before the election, according to four current and former American officials.

Let that one sink in for a bit.

The thing that everyone in this Administration, from Trump on down, has been vociferously denying since before Manafort was outed. Possible collusion with a hostile foreign government to throw an American election and install a regime friendly to said foreign government.

Even if none of this can be proven definitively (and let's be honest, there's way too much coincidental smoke for there to be no fire) Trump's residual political capital is burning into negative territory now and there's way more awful, illegal and embarrassing shoes to drop. No way he's going to get anything like the goals he's set for himself done and he'll be lucky to serve out the year, much less four, with 3/4 of the country enraged and even the hard core R's stepping back.

I blame Comey and the NY FBI officers, too – throwing bogus email charges around the week before the election. He fucking knew he was sandbagging Hillary and I wouldn't be at all surprised if he made a couple of calls also.

I guess the good news – if there is any – is that the Trump administration's gathered the very worst people in the country around it and when that ship goes down it'll take all those awful monsters with it.
