I went to Italy for the first time in '06, equipped with only my standard set of favorable and unfavorable stereotypes. Before I went an Italian friend said, "Every part of Italy is beautiful," and I attributed this to normal pride in one's home country.
Over the past 11 years La Signora_Quarantanova and I have been all over Italy, from Sicily to the Austrian and Swiss borders, and what our friend said is true: it's all beautiful.
Italians love basketball….hard to believe they didn't recognize Magic.
