  1. Dear Wonkville,
I have a hypothetical question……..s'pose you're playing …….oh lets say a card game, online……..this game has two teams of two, but you are the only only human playing [ so the game makers claim, anyway…..] So, your 'robot 'partner makes a legal play, but upon viewing this play, you want to exclaim. " WHAT THE FUCK ??? ARE YOU FUCKING HIGH?? "
    .
So, is this a perfectly reasonable response, even though it's just a program, given that this is pretty much a simulation game, and such responses would be in some way be appropriate [ but get you thrown out of a real card game of such partners ]
    OR
Is it overly anthropomorphising the program, but nothing to really worry about because people do that with cars, bikes, fenceposts…….etc….?
    OR
Is such a response a sign of mental illness?

    TYIA
    Sincerely,
    Dilemma in the Desert

    1. Dear Dilemma,

Could it be that the game makers, in their effort to have the robot players simulate humans as closely as possible, have programmed them to do shitty, weird things that an actual human might do when high? Maybe the programmers are trying to elicit an exclamation such as, "WHAT THE FUCK ??? ARE YOU FUCKING HIGH??" and that such an exclamation might be the benchmark they are looking for to indicate their software performs well?

Or maybe it's just a crappy program. One or the other.

      Just don't upset it.

      1. Thank you for your prompt reply. I will keep that in mind as I am getting my ass kicked and am resigned to that fate this evening. [I assume it's a good game because I can beat the other free games ]
