2016: South Carolina's second landfalling May tropical cyclone.

  2. And if you're wondering about the lack of a wind threat, here's the biggest report of damage so far (from a comment on another blog)

  4. 90 degrees was our high today with a heat index of 105!!! Fortunately the 12+ inches was about 30 miles southeast of here. We only got 3 inches.

    1. I'm in NJ for the weekend. About 92 here for the high, plus an air quality warning, and no rain yet.Still, better than being trapped in my house in Tourist Central.

  5. Okay, this is all fine and good, but I gotta warn ya, there's some hoodoo goin on. I was looking for the old song by Dr. John, but the only version I could find was this one.

I couldn't even find a reference to it on the whole interwebs. No lyrics. No listing on any albums, his web page……nowhere, except his own reference to it in his half-assed autobiography.,parts of which are online. [ There's at least three other songs of the same name , and only the one by Traffic had I ever heard of before] . So while I'm searching and searching, the net connection goes out………this was about 5:30 PDT, and just came back now at 9:00. after I called one of the local brujas and told her there was trouble. she done fixed it up right somehow……..I don't ask….

  6. Sounds like the time I went to the beach in ME. It was late July but absolutely awful.

32C is crazy but the gulf is a crazy place! Getting a storm over that water in peak season can be scary.

  7. I can't take that kind of heat. The cold in winter might suck in Ohio sometimes (yes, MN/WI people are laughing right now, it's so much worse there), but at least we don't have a heat index over 100 every single summer day!

  8. I do actually like Strange Magic, but that's about it. It's weird, like a lotta them, sure can craft a song…..I just don't really care for them. Like, currently, whatisname…..John Legend…..I say yeah, wow, sure can write 'em……….then turn it off……….
