You, Paul Bremer, made a lot of the decisions that drove Iraqians to do some of the very things you say we didn't plan for. I served, I was over there. I saw the swathes of people unemployed. I saw the civil engineers we brought from the united states, trying to explain to people that no they can't repair their own country, they've been brought in to do it. I've seen kids abandoned on the side of the road due to lack of food for the family. I've seen tankers shoot buildings and just label everyone in the building, men women children old young, a terrorist because one person from the building threw a rock at a soldier. I saw how we shutdown their entire postal service, how we told their entire army they were disbanded, and to go home. I saw how we didn't protect the very munitions that the insurgents later used against us because we were too busy protecting oil fields, oil fields that were empty of the constant raids that became common on the munition holds of the former iraqi military.
Your very presence in this discussion, disgusts me.
See? And the Mods went "Oh. Shit."
I screencapped the comments because a). I was afraid they were going to be slagged and b). they were Just So Good.
Bremer was on the Diane Rehms Show in '06 – I think – hawking his self congratulatory book. I remember him getting savaged by the call-in audience even then. As he deserved.
They are all like this. It's the official start of the "It Wasn't Me" Tour and we'll be seeing all of them shamelessly parading around in public trying to convince us that the world is better off.
Oh, him. I thought you meant of or by C.B., which I would want.
Imma wait for the bridge engineers to weigh-in, but my first guess is that one ain't gonna work. So, typical.

Aren't we done with this asshole yet? He parachuted in, fucked everything up, and then left the very day his replacement arrived.
Yeah, right: Washington wasn't prepared. How about the dipshit Washington sent to play proconsul?
