Ammonites are found in a lot of France. Here's a picture that I took a few years ago in Digne Les Bains. Along the side of the road, there is a huge wall of embedded ammonites that they uncovered when they were doing some road work. You can just walk right up and touch the wall. Amazing.
Ah, that's all fantastic and great pics! How lucky you are.
There's | Scientists Cliffs | here, where you can find lots of shallow water Miocene sea invertebrate fossils whale bones and the occasional giant shark tooth.
No interesting Cephs – the strata are way too late for that – but there is, right now a | a local Bay Squid | you can frolic with.
Scientists Cliffs for fossil collection, very cool! That bay squid is beautiful.
You've reminded me of a trip to New Zealand that I took a few years ago. There's a fantastic museum in Wellington (assuming it's still there, I visited pre-earthquake) with a preserved giant squid. I'm attaching more pictures, although I'm not sure it gives the full sense of how large this thing is.
Yeah and you'd think, with all the time it takes to film in stop-motion, that the cops would move the car. But noooo, they had to have another cup of joe at the donut shop…
I know! You have to be careful to chase them out of your engine compartment in the morning before you start up, or else you have a terrible mess on your hands.

Excellent. Saturday Ammonite Fever?
How deep is your love? At least 2000 meters.

You know, I've always suspected this about John Travolta so it comes as no surprise.
Cool.

The ocean, she is full of mystery.
I think that's the same N.Z. museum that lets you | build your own Colossal Squid. |
Yes, it's the same one! Nifty!
Oh, and apparently, | they're still around! |
Very nice! I have imitation cabinet knobs. Also, there's a place in Nevada named Ammonite Canyon, but I've never been.

Cool!
Protip: don't go there at night. “That is not dead which can eternal lie, And with strange aeons even death may die.”

The Akkorokamui (アッコロカムイ) is a gigantic octopus-like, or giant squid[1] monster from Ainu folklore, which supposedly lurks in Funka Bay in Hokkaidō.

No one takes these things seriously until they get all pissed off, surface and crush your local police car.

None of that would have happened if they had made the fence on the side of the GG bridge a foot higher.

As someone who's done stop action animation, I can attest to the fact that it can really sneak up on some people.
If you won't jump, we'll come to you!
Oh great, now there'll be a black-and-whites matter.
The Funka Effect
Maybe you should ponder that over a black & tan (or several)
Maybe for lunch. There's still half a pitcher of Bloody Marys.
It's a good thing you don't do DST out there. Falling Back always puts me way behind in the drinking. For a few weeks.
Myth: you're totally much safer in those tiny little lifeboats than in the large ship with the cannons.
