Henghngh, had to give up after the panoply of presumptuous cliches in this graf:
The country desperately needs a healthy center-right party that embraces the full rainbow of American society, promotes market-based solutions for climate change, celebrates risk-taking over redistribution, pushes for smaller government, expands trade that benefits the many but takes care of those hurt by it, invests in infrastructure, offers tax and entitlement reforms — and liberates itself from right-wing thought police like Fox News, Rush Limbaugh and Grover Norquist, who have prevented the G.O.P. from compromising and being a governing party.
American corporate culture in general does not favor risky market solutions. The Job Creators tend to want a guarantee that they'll be spared competition. In other words they want what Krupp and IG Farben had in 1936.
Competition is supposed to be such a great thing, regulation bad. Except the regulation is the only thing that can keep the winning competitor/jerb-creator from exercising monopoly power. And not just over consumers: it's always interesting to talk to the cable repair guys and learn that they're not employees at all, most of the time. They're 1099 contractors with no retirement, no health insurance, no workmans' comp if they fall off a ladder. SAD!
