In fairness to Apple, I've never bought/owned a new Apple product. I bought a used Mac laptop that was a POS, so I figured that was why they sold it. I was given an iPod which works well enough, I suppose, but the damned thing decided that music I owned and tried to xfer to it was some kind of copyright infringement and wouldn't allow it. The stuff that was on it when I received it was OK, but not all to my liking.
so, that's the keyboard layout I have. it has an esc key, that I like…never…use. If you do fn (lower left) and the arrow keys (lower right) you get home, page up, page down, end.
Oh, edit, also, that key below the power key, upper right? That's delete.
I also sometimes use my computer with a full size dell bluetooth keyboard, and all of its keys do what they should automagically.
Nah, what Apple calls the delete key is really the backspace key.
I know this is all trivia. You just get used to working a certain way and it's hard to give up the muscle memory. La Signora_Quarantanova's son was raised in a proper Windows environment but read a book about Steve Jobs and morphed into a total Apple fanboy. That's his business, but when his mother wanted to manage her own web site, he had her get a (gorgeous, highly-desirable, soon to be discontinued) MacBook Air. Now he's off in Brooklyn grooming his abundant hair, the website's on platform-independent Squarespace, and I'm the tech support person, looking for the Home key.

Now that's funny- especially if you know that Word and Excel came out first on the mac. I try to expand my muscle memory and avoid total fanboyism in things. I use macs and linux…

No joke, I have a friend who still uses an Apple cube as his day to day machine. He refuses to move to any email app from his beloved Eudora. I try to be an "adapt or perish" kind of person, but some of the softwares coming out these days are clearly jobs programs for hipster coders. I pick and choose carefully.
I've never been an iPerson, so this changes nothing!
They lost me when they deleted the "Delete" key.

I still get a laugh that Apple adopted the USB standard, invented by intel, way before all those intel powered computers did.
