This is a serious pet peeve of mine (no pun intended). Many cat owners are irresponsible as hell. if I let my wolf pup roam the streets at night and hunt whatever he found, people would freak out and animal control would go ballistic. But somehow it's OK when cats do the same thing. If a dog is found wandering the neighborhood, it gets picked up and if the owner doesn't claim it fast enough, it likely gets euthanized. Yet cats are everywhere, yowling and fighting and breeding unchecked. There's nothing more special than coming out to your car in the morning and seeing the cat paw prints and scratches on the hood where one climbed up to warm itself, or getting that oh so fragrant smell where one decided to spray your stuff. If you can't account for your cat's whereabouts for hours or days at a time, you are NOT a responsible pet owner. Who knows what it's killing? Mice? Someone's birds? If you're going to be a pet owner, be a responsible one- that means keeping track of it at all times.
