Am I going to listen to the actual math nerd who plays with statistics for fun, or the "I got people for that" guy?

  2. I early voted in NV. I never once answered an unidentifiable phone call throughout the interminable election "season" (really, what "season" runs 17 damned months?), and I refuse to believe I am that damned unique. The polls are meaningless.

  3. Where the hell is this "Nate Silver is pro-Trump" bs coming from this year? It's all over the place for some reason.

  4. Anecdote. So, off on an errand. Guy at a major intersection wearing a keffiyeh over his face ISIS style, holding a sign saying: GOOGLE PODESTA EMAILS. Interesting thing to do, thinks I. On the way back, three TPD cars with lights flashing at intersection. Subject being interviewed by officers.

        1. "Sergeant, you got a lot a damn gall to
ask me if I've rehabilitated myself, I mean, I mean, I mean that just, I'm
sittin' here on the bench, I mean I'm sittin here on the Group W bench
'cause you want to know if I'm moral enough join the Army, burn women,
kids, houses and villages after bein' a litterbug."

          1. I used to laugh about having a "permanent record" until it kept me from working on military bases and outposts later in life.

          2. FWIW, when I first started at Livermore Lab, I had heard they were dropping the requirements of "no prior drug use" because they wouldn't be able to hire anyone. Ha ha!

          3. I was in construction, and some of the best jerbs were at the Nevada Test Site and/or the Tonopah Test Range. Lots of my friends worked there during the week and returned home to CA on weekends. I found work, but I had to go to Death Valley. FML

          4. Eh, I did OK, considering.

I felt pretty good about voting to legalize marijuana in NV. It being illegal is what ruined my prospects from a young age. Well, not so much that it was illegal, but that I chose to possess it despite it's illegality.

          1. I gotta say, Dunkin' has gone downhill over the years- especially after my roomie stopped working for them about 30 years ago and brought back donuts just the way I liked them. Sad!

          2. so, my buddy, worked there through college, had some great stories. His first day on the job, he made cinnamon rolls, but didn't realized how much they'd rise. They ended up about the size of dinner plates. His boss was cool "Boy, I'm gonna sell these for five bucks!" he said. His boss always went golfing on saturdays with his buddies, who always brought a case of beer- even in the winter (and this was in NJ- clearly a guy after Blue's heart), one cold day they were playing golf and the guy's beer froze.

          1. I KNOW!!
If the coppers hadn't shown up, I imagined a buncha coal-rollers beating the shit out of the guy as he vainly tried to explain who Podesta is and Hitlery etc……

  5. I tried to send that graph to The Kid, posing as my own work, but he said "I know it's not yours because you didn't label the axes"

I replied: "Speaking of axes", said The Duchess, "off with their heads!"

  6. Not to worry. After Emperor Trump takes over, all commerce will be reduced to barter (at best). I'm kind of counting on your desert hideout along with my ability to see danger at a distance with my optical devices as a prepper scenario.
