Don't usually watch the teevee this time of day, but was up a lot during the night with fear and trembling. Am moved to observe that Tamron Hall is one lovely woman.
My polling place is in Tim Kaine's neighborhood,at a retirement home; one of my own neighbors texted me early a.m. the lines had gotten long enough what with Kaine showing up, that her wait was considerable. I'm gonna try for lunch break or after work to go vote. The article about his appearance kind of made me smile: "… Kaine said he planned to grab breakfast w/ his friends, go for a neighborhood walk" (before heading to NY).
I loathe the idea of cameras following him & Mrs. Kaine around their lovely walk but I *lurve* the idea of him strolling about the place they've called home for so long like it's an old friend. Wait, that is also sad as well — they are saying good-bye to it most likely…. http://wtvr.com/2016/11/08/tim-kaine-votes/
So, my polling place is next door, not a problem (I parked the cars far away), but trying to get the missus to the train station today was an exercise in alternate routes. The usual way down, at the bottom of the hill, is a fucking parking lot…something about "voting" and "polling places". Assume crash position, folks, it's going to be a wild ride.
FWIW, I've heard if you have a gmail ID and you look at someone else's google doc spreadsheet, they can scrape your ID and password if you're logged in while looking at it. Dunno if it's true, but be safe.

Above the entrance to the polling site, in giant gold letters, was a name: Trump.
Heh, I was away for the weekend and kinda forgot about this until Sunday, when it was way too late to do anything about fixing it. Talk about RIGGED!!111!, though, weren't you supposed to remind us about this with a Thursday sportsball post? I need a ruling from the Nevada judge.
Here in my Southern California district at 6:45 this morning, if you'd taken a picture of the 150 or so people already cheerfully lined up, you'd think it had been staged by an institution who'd told the photographer, "Really, really, stress the diversity, m'kay? Thanks"
Our regular Cocoon-cast-member poll-workers were augmented this time by bright-faced millennials, efficiently accommodating a couple of provisional-ballot seekers.
We apologize for the upbeat, friction-free report.
It is heating up a bit (90f). Perhaps I should take a wheeled cooler, walk up and down the line and offer to sell ice cold beer, and, y'know, demand ID.
People seemed oddly upbeat at my polling place for such a long wait for some reason. I heard more comments about my hair than whining about the line for some reason and the count was just 2-1 or something
I've been getting about 150 campaign related emails every day. I've been routinely deleting them without opening. Today I'm opening and unsubscribing. Shoulda done that months ago.

Mitsuha Miyamizu from Kimi No Na Wa. Doesn't seem to be much info on her but she's basically a girl in a small town in the mountains who really wants to move to the city. Tired of being a shrine maiden and the like. Ends up switching bodies with some city boy several times after that for some reason, can't say too much more than that with how crazy the twist is midway through.
The gender body switch thing is surprisingly common. When I was little I loved the Frank Baum Wizard of Oz books, and in so many of them the main character is a boy with a pumpkinhead who metamorphs into a girl, or a boy who turns into a princess, or maybe it was the other way around. Anyway there's a lot of that going on in his books. Funny how that part never made it to the big screen.
It's done really well in the movie too, they create rules for each other during the switching and everything. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Your_Name This is basically the only link with more info I can find, tbh. It's VERY heavy on spoilers, so only click if you're okay with that.
