  1. This is probably why they asked for specific names of people at the DOE and for women and LGBT programs at state.

  2. Well if they want to live out Grover Norquist's fantasy of reducing government to such a minimal size that they can strangle it in its crib, this is an excellent start.

Let's see how they feel when no staffers come to work in their offices each morning, and the calls start coming in from angry Soshecurity recipients.

    1. I always thought it was "drown it in the bathtub", but I guess it depends on if it's sleeping or getting a bath.

  3. This seems like the opposite of jerb creation. But I'm *sure* private enterprise will pick up the slack, and so cost effectively too.

  4. Under a Republican governator in California, they withheld our pay and tried to cut it to minimum wage. It didn't pass constitutional muster. They did manage to implement what amounted to a 10% pay cut in the form of furlough days, but our union got that reversed as well. We got the day off, technically without pay, but eight hours of deferred compensation was added to our leave balance. More vacation days FTW!

  5. Why would anyone want to work for the government now…

…oh, right, that's their whole reason behind doing this. Assholes, indeed…
