    1. Oh man – Seriously? They kept Huckabee and Ben Carson and kicked out Pataki and Carly Fiorina!? AHAHAHAHAH combined-national-polls my ass, that's totally Ailes. Keep the wild eyed religious fanatic and the God-Complex surgeon nutjob and cut the boring but successful blue state governor and the tech CEO and only woman in the race.

True story: I was listening to Washington Journal's Open Phones call in this morning (Hey – I had to get my Rage up for the trip. Don't judge.) and the topic was |"What is your view of the Republican presidential candidates who participated in the 'Voters First Forum'?”| Check it out, for as long as you can (bonus Trump Hairpiece prank call at 56.31). I was hearing so much love for Carly Fiorina I started to worry a bit. Looks like there's going to be a lot of pissed off primary voters, 'specially amongst the woman vote.

          1. I know. You spend half a billion on their health care and they still won't quit their complaining.

          2. I'm thrilled to be enfranchised, I just wish they'd let us go to the polling place instead of setting up that stupid booth in my kitchen.

        1. Yeah, I was surprised this morning. I know the callers were a self selected sup-sample, not representative, etc. but I got the impression that a.) Fiorina's a good presence on the stage and b.) there's a substantial number of R voters that are really tired and disgusted of the ditch their party's dug themselves into.

          1. I'm trying to figure out who those voters would even pick from this group. There isn't much available despite 17 choices.

          2. This group of voters? Whoever becomes the angriest lunatic. I'm throwing in for Huckabee. He's hitting on all the right towering Jesus-based rage Culture Warrior themes.

          3. The past few days I've noticed a Toyota Corolla with Ben Carson bumper stickers all over the back. In my little hippie town in my blue state. There's a small but noisy right wing element here, but Ben Carson? Honestly it doesn't compute.

          4. I'm in the Angry Old White section of my blue state and I've seen exactly two Ben Carson bumper stickers. Both of those people were clearly insane and everyone was giving them a wide berth.

          5. I would have thought Insane Old too, but it was on a Corolla, which makes me think Clueless Young.

If the Republicans really wanted to mess with us they'd pay Volvo drivers to display those stickers.

          6. These "Clueless Young" definitely exist. That comment about a 19 year old girl calling Rick Perry cute was a real thing that actually happened today. I don't understand.

          7. "Lessee…who would really piss my parents off? Ooh, I know! Ben Carson!"

Round here, I see Volvos with yellow "Don't Tread On Me" snake stickers. You can't explain it.

          8. Starting small for now seems like a good idea though, since this is just the very beginning of a 15-month increasing volume of crazy.

          9. I don't see why not: One other ad today was for a doomsday prepper store in Dayton so I'm sure there's a niche for us as well!

          10. I was messing with my comment, oopsie. To anyone wondering, I'd suggested Ohio could set up prepper stores for Democrats to get through election season.

          11. Oh yeah – liquor and Alka-Seltzer, right? There's money in that idea.

I think that stronger measures will need to be taken as this awful spectacle season wears on. A Ted Kaczynski cabin, totally cut off from any electronic communications (but with a nice view, eh?) is going to sound real attractive a few months in.

          12. Someone could create an Ohio-specific, word-sensitive ad-blocker. It blocks ads that contain terms like, "patriot" "heritage" "Benghazi" "job creator" "fence"

Or maybe it just replaces those words with "secretly gay."
