Some folks get it, some folks don't. When you're out on the highwire you can't afford to not pay attention and be careful-ever. In fact, for most of us it's better to never step out on that wire in the first place. It's just not worth the risk. I'm sorry to hear about this…
Don't know what it is about singer-songwriters from the Frozen North: Young, Dylan, Cohen and even sometimes Gordon Lightfoot. That number's one of his best, and there's a really good version of it in Jonathan Demme's concert film, "Neil Young: Heart of Gold."
Thanks. I'm pretty sure he was closer to Karen's age than ours. Very sad.
Reminds me of when I was back in CT this past summer at my friends' 25th anniversary party and after sunset we were sitting around and I pulled out the gee tar. After a few songs someone said "play something uplifting!" to which I replied "I didn't learn to play the guitar to play uplifting songs"
I like the ones that nobody but the person who wrote it could possibly sing:
♪♫Darkness at the break of noon
Shadows even the silver spoon.
The hand-made blade, the child's balloon
Eclipses both the sun and moon.
To understand, you know too soon:
There's no sense in trying.♪♫
And I never let that stop me from singing them.
And I forgot Van Morrison, who's from Northern Ireland.
Funeral for a friend of a friend. She didn't even know he was a user. So sad. Take care of yourselves, folks.

Sad indeed. I learned a long time ago that we don't all make it…
