Watched the first episode of "The Great War" this morning, and either it was pretty good or my insomnia was pretty bad. They mentioned Seeger (who was Pete's uncle). I guess Wilfred Owen and his |great poem| won't make an appearance, as Owen was a Brit. But it's at the link and apropos for Syria. It was the first poem I ever read that made me realize that poetry could be angrily political and bitterly beautiful at the same time.
I can't remember the last time I've had any cola. Don't normally drink carbonated beverages at all, other than the occasional root beer or root beer float. Last week, however, I drank two cans of Mello Yello, because they are sponsors of the NHRA Nationals I was at, and they were giving the stuff away.
