"If you think of the English language connotation of referring to the French as frogs — it's not complimentary, and the French are aware of it," Nimmo said. "Marketing anything in a different country, in a different language, in a different culture is hard work. And frankly, the alt-right is not usually known for its cultural sensitivity."
If they'd only gone with the Cheese-Eating Surrender Monkey Meme it would have worked.
Whoa…good luck dealing with that. Down here in Los Angeles, we at least got a bit of rain with the May Gray, but we're likely to have cloudy days for the next several days at least. Grrr.
What? Go ahead and call me a whiner–I don't pay Los Angeles' rent to get Pittsburgh's weather!
The one good thing about this weather is I can make the roasted red pepper and goat cheese lasagne for the friends I'm having over tonight without sending the A/C into overdrive. Summer will be here soon enough (I hope!)
"Winter weather" here is an entirely different concept from my place in the shadow of the Sierra, but it's still supposed to rain here and snow at higher elevations. Like you say, it'll be summer soon enough. In fact it was over 100 the last two days, so this is preferable.

HA!
And yes, Yosemite is beautiful. Wish I could go back up there. Maybe next year.
Here in the desert of southern Nevada, we are under a "winter weather warning." Talk about not getting what we paid for!
