  1. this is what I just posted on my faceplace page

WTF was that cabinet meeting today? Have we really completely descended to third world tin pot dictator status in this country where cabinet members compete to humiliate and debase themselves for the cameras with their disgusting fawning and groveling for dear leader? Funny how the same people who spent eight years complaining about Obama being the Messiah are perfectly OK with this pathetic public slobbering over their self anointed God King. This is not how democracies are supposed to be. That embarrassing display of obsequious brown nosing would be more at home in some fascist hellhole like the DPRK, though even Lil Kim would probably blanch at that tawdry mess and tell them to dial it back a bit.
I'm old enough to remember when Republicans opposed blow jobs in the White House. Now I guess it's just fine and dandy, as long as it's senior staff giving the boy king a big wet sloppy one in front of the whole world…

  2. they really are just going balls out, full blown fascism- it's going to get really ugly in Murica before we get these freaks under control and send them back under the rocks they crawled out from under

  3. There's right wing Americans who will always need to have a strongman Leader, for psychological reasons, as long as He is of their tribe, hits all the correct societal keys, fluffs all the right people, enables their hatred for all the right people.
They made a demigod of a divorced hack Hollywood actor with Alzheimers'. The hagiography of the goofy child-President George W. Bush before he became an international embarrassment was remarkably obscene. They were indifferent about McCain and Romney but would sure as shit have gotten on the train if either of them had won. I don't even went to speak about the deification of former half-term Governor Palin.

Now the wingnuts and evangelicals have thrown their chips all in on a thrice-divorced conman/bullshit artist from Queens who pissed away his entire trust fund, driven himself into bankruptcy 6 times, lost money trying to run actual money machines – casinos – earns money now by leasing his name to other peoples' projects and keeps profits by ripping off contractors. Famously uneducated and incurious, famous for being famous, a second rate Reality TV star who's running the Executive branch of the most powerful country on Earth like an Ad agency for a Reality TV show – lots of eye grabbing advertising and media spots and running around looking busy and putting on one helluva show but ultimately accomplishing nothing.

When this all falls down – and it will, sooner rather than later – I hope he takes the whole rotten edifice of the postwar right wing down with him. Kansas has already figured out the scam of Reagan Era and I hope the rest of the country follows soon.

    Look familiar?

  4. I got to watch the whole thing, with sound, on the teevee when I got home and it set me right off. I think it's got to be the most disgraceful thing I've seen a President do in public ever, including Nixon.

  5. I retired ten years ago, so I doubt I can get a copy now. I also refused to sign it when requested, another black mark.

  6. You'd need to request your entire personnel file and orgs make that such a PIA that it's not worth it. It's the fact you git it that counts, and the principle of the thing (I wouldn't have signed either).

Oh, here's | Today's Nice Time | if you follow these things.

  7. Makes me wonder, looking back, if that may have been the beginning of the end for my career. About the same time, I was injured on the job. Shortly after, we got a manager who was a total toadie for Ahnold, who mandated that the books be cleared of all worker's comp cases. This particular manager "managed" to promote each and every woman on the list, and terminated all the males, district-wide. I can't speak for anyone else, but my suit cost them dearly. Woulda been cheaper to keep me.
