Had friend who's first car was a Cricket. I think Dodge's first attempt at 'Hey we can make cheap , shitty cars too'. We were at a sports park doing sports once. It was at the bottom of a little valley. An intoxicated person came screaming around the curve of the hill and smashed into the rear of his car, and a couple other things. Cricket exploded. Fireball just like in the movies. I distinctly remember Carl's words at the time, " Hey, that's my car."
I was young! I didn't have much money, okay? Are you happy now?!! Well? Are you?!!!
*sob*
I may have said too much.
As a kid of parents who drove a Hornet, I was envious of Gremlin owners.

To be fair to Pontiac, that was built by Toyota.
My first wife left her previous husband for me after he bought a Gremlin. Coincidence? You be the judge.
I missed this thread, but AMC Eagle. …Why?
He was an X-ray crystallographer and so obviously of diminished capacity when it comes to the normal-scale world.
