We don’t believe the Steele dossier was the trigger for the F.B.I.’s investigation into Russian meddling. As we told the Senate Judiciary Committee in August, our sources said the dossier was taken so seriously because it corroborated reports the bureau had received from other sources, including one inside the Trump camp.
Oh God, I'm dying to know who talked.
Yes, we hired Mr. Steele, a highly respected Russia expert. But we did so without informing him whom we were working for and gave him no specific marching orders beyond this basic question: Why did Mr. Trump repeatedly seek to do deals in a notoriously corrupt police state that most serious investors shun?
What came back shocked us. Mr. Steele’s sources in Russia (who were not paid) reported on an extensive — and now confirmed — effort by the Kremlin to help elect Mr. Trump president.
Welp, that NYT op-ed (not linking but it's in today's paper if you're curious) that went on about how Dems shouldn't rush to impeach isn't aging very well FFS.
I read the thing. 99% of people talking about Fusion GPS are Trump assholes making conspiracy theories. My comment is literally based on the issues about right-wing conspiracy theories mentioned in the thing.

And there's a lot more than just Fusion GPS.
It's gotten to the point where my eyes just glaze over at the mere mention of Fusion GPS. The bullshit argument is always exactly the same.
Well, Maddow had a long piece on this tonight. It's a somethingburger.
Clearly there are alternative sources of intel.
