2. I remember discussing the issue of that flag with my dad years ago, and I said I was glad that we were from a Union state. He paused, got a look on his face like "Oh God, I hate to tell her this," and said that he sometimes saw them displayed locally. The ONLY reason I didn't say "Oh, for fuck's sake" is that my dad was a gentleman who rarely cursed.
At least one Confederate flag and one U.S. flag were burned.
