    1. Hadn't heard about the book, so thanks for the heads-up. Does it record whether Booker White was aware he'd been lost when Fahey re-discovered him ?

      1. It's Bukka, pronounced "BOO-kah,"as I was taught by the grumpy founder of Folk Arts Records here in San Diego when I came in asking about him. (The given name was Booker T Washington White.)

I'm about halfway through the book. There hasn't been much information about Fahey's musicological explorations of the Deep South.

        1. Yeah, I was going with the spelling Eric Bibb used for his album "Booker's Guitar". I'm fairly sure the liner notes to a collection of White's early stuff said his record company insisted on spelling it "Bukka" despite his objections.
