This isn't a normal El Nino but weather across North America (and the world, for that matter) is affected by any El Nino. It'll likely be more extreme than normal, to be sure, but there's always something. Anyway, enjoy your extra rain this winter, California, because I'll be enjoying my warmer and drier winter after the last two really cold ones.
