  1. Henghnghn, no Saudis have jobs. They all have income from the state/oil. If the per capita income did not include the Palestinians and Bangladeshis and other indentured servantsw who do all the work the Saudis won't do, the per capita income would be higher, probably. A lot higher.

[edit] Well, upon further "research" (Googling), I can't easily find anything to verify my assertion, which comes from my brother-in-law, who does bidness there sometimes. Pretty sure every Saudi citizen gets free housing, education, medical care, and handjobs every few hours, though.

  2. Well, upon further "research" (Googling) — jeje

But srsly, I work with some Saudi nationals and I could certainly ask them and get back to you.

  3. Looks like Olaf is going to stay about 700 miles offshore, so no help there. Oddly, Ohio is about to get a couple of inches of rain tomorrow and Wednesday, partially from the remnants of Patricia. Not too common that a Pacific storm helps make it rain here.

  4. Of course the ones I work with are a select sample, i.e. ER residents. They are as a lot quite affable and capable. Occasionally, over the years, I have asked them questions about their culture and there seems to be a definite class structure with an undercurrent of nepotism and payola. Never has one of them come across as a jihadist. They are humans after all. I'm always pleasantly surprised by our patients that have never taken offense (that I know of) by being taken care of by an "arab."
BTW, the best ER resident we have ever had — foreign or otherwise — was a female from U.A.E.
