  1. Heard this great news on the radio today. The movie and the boycott it engendered have really hurt Sea World, and they've been heavily discounting tickets to keep revenue up. Their latest "plan" is an agreement with a local hotelier to build a hotel in their parking lot and become more of an animal abuse resort rather than an animal abuse theater. They'll have to get it past the California Coastal Commission, but they've been able to sneak awful things past them before.

  2. I didn't think they were going to hurt me, but when they shot out of the water in a paired circular arc it seemed like it might not be a good idea to be in the vicinity where they would land.

Or I'm just a wimp. And yes it was cool, especially if you compare the experience to seeing them in those awful underwater cages they confine them in at resorts (Cancun, maybe?) where you "swim with the dolphins."

  3. Surfing at Mazatlán one time, we were warned out of the water due to a school of sharks. From shore, we could see them feeding until a pod of dolphins showed up and scared them off. Then it rained and we started drinking, the end.
