I had this conversation with an older wingnut from Eric's parent's generation, just last year:
He: "My kids wanted me to trade the old Caddy for a Lexus. There's no way I'm going to buy one of those Jap cars after what they did to us in the war! "
Me: Okay… "So, what did you end up getting?"
He: "Got me a nice Jag. It's great looking and runs smoother n' silk."
Me: "What? You bought British? Those guys burned down the White House!"
He didn't want to talk to me after that, for some reason.
"That is maybe the dumbest thing I've read in a while – and I've read several of your other tweets, so that's saying something."
