Attorneys for the mall and Black Lives Matter Minneapolis squared off for nearly 90 minutes in court on Monday after MOA asked a judge to have the group take down its invitation to a protest planned for Wednesday and put up a post saying it is canceled…
Attorney Susan Gaertner, the former Ramsey County attorney, said…
"This is not a place for public debate. This is not a place for public demonstrations," she argued. She told the judge that forcing the mall to accommodate Black Lives Matter would be "no more appropriate than it would be around my kitchen table or on someone's front porch."
Your kitchen table and front porch are open for business now?
Who knew the Bureau of Land Management folks were so militant?
Wait, what?
Oh, never mind. Too many years working with acronyms. One time another guy and I were walking down a common hallway in our office building, and he pointed at a bold sign on what looked like a closet door saying "FAP" and looked toward me. "Fire annunciator panel" I explained, without missing a beat.
Well they're now kinda getting in predominately white folks' faces rather than burning down their own neighborhood as has happened. Likely as a result, we're starting to see better training, more cameras, and (shock of shocks) some trials of cops for excessive force or worse. Yeah this squeaky wheel can be annoying, but that is more likely to see that excessive force BLM is concerned about gets greased.
True–there's a fine line between being obstructive enough to move the apathetic powers that be to do something about the problem and being destructive and counter-productive. Which would be why MOA is fair game but the airport is really not a great venue for BLM to disrupt IMHO.
False analogy much, MOA?

I'm a little concerned about that as well. Interfering with shopping is one thing, but if I missed a plane due to a demonstration I would be pissed…
