  1. The tragedy of the 2016 campaign is that Trump has mobilized a constituency with legitimate grievances on a fool’s errand.

    Exactly. The question is: what will they do when they finally realize they're going nowhere, still screwed and no help is coming? They've already lost faith in all the social and governmental constructs that keep society together and they virulently hate every kind of governance.

    Will they go home, go nuts or both?

  3. But any campaign (are you listening, Hillary?) that ignores the fact that two generations of Americans now have seen the basic expectations of life reversed is going to have hard time winning, just by pointing out that Trump’s bloviating won’t help either.

    Hillary, don't just listen to this–articulate a better path to progress for these people. NOW!
