Even tonight, I can get them in the same field of view in my 6" scope. Tomorrow night I pull out the big iron. Seeing a big crescent Venus in the same field of view in a telescope with Jupiter is a rare, amazing treat. Do it if you can. If you need me to find a place for you to go, let me know. I'll hook you up.
In a pinch, you can pick up Jupiter with a shortwave radio. Might lack the aesthetics…
