    1. Yeah, I think we mentioned before – June was hot and dry over the border. However, now being stuck in London the past couple of days with all the pollution and disgusting sweaty nasty traffic… it has been wretched. :<

Desperate for this supposed thunderstorm to break…

  1. Their definition of heat wave is a lot different than what they tend to do in the US o_o It would still qualify even here though.

    1. It's somewhere in the 90s (F), right? We would whine about that in NJ, too, but an actual heat wave has to be a few days over at least 100F.

      1. It depends on the local area, I know here it's 3 days above 90 degrees, when the average mid-summer is around 87. Things flip around so much around here that being even 3 degrees above normal for that many days in a row is pretty uncommon.

      2. Yeah. You all also get humidity there to rival Florida in the summer time, though. When I moved to Cleveland things were a tad drier and cooler, but the winters were more impressive.

One thing that cracks me up and/or annoys me is folks who say "unseasonably hot" in the summer or "unseasonably cold" in the winter- as if it's supposed to be hotter or colder in another season, respectively?

        1. Yup. The AC doesn't really work in my bedroom, and even though the temps are back down from last week's 90s/high 80s, down to 80s/high70s at night, I keep having to flip my fan on to keep from being bathed in sweat because it's so humid. Then I get cold, turn it off, then the sweat, then the fan, lather, repeat. (This is why I have now run my fan from a remote control. My legs were getting tired from walking over to it every 5 minutes.)

          1. Yeah, back in NJ, the basement was your friend in the summer time. When I lived in Tampa, if I’d visit NJ in the summer and a cold front/thunderstorm hadn’t gone through, it was almost the same.

    2. It's the pollution more than anything.
Down by the coast with some fresh sea air would still be vexing, but oh god if I hadn't had to come back for a project…. and now stuck in this disgusting hellhole all fooking summer :((((((

I miss my sweet canadian rainforest….
