I remember one hotel in the middle of Utah on a Sunday, only one channel even worked and there was porn on it. It was hilarious.
I pity anyone who has to watch TV in a motel.
Also- I was in high school when MTV came out, and I was not thrilled with it then, either.

In the past when I lectured at universities I got paid spit as well, so would be nothing new.
I get paid spit too, but the upside is 2 or 3 students a year who are on the ball, and one each from my last two classes who are now working on the cause. That and online journal access to most stuff. For some high impact ultra prima donna pubs, I sometimes have to go to the UC Berkeley library. Fuckers.
