Oh, this seems like a good place to mention that football starts ungodly early tomorrow because London game — Jets-Dolphins at 9:30amEastern/Crack of Dawn West of Mississippi.
I'm up in the Poconos now, so quite well — just a drizzle here the last few days, though the temps are down in the 40s and the winds have kicked up. I think only the Jersey Shore got hit bad. Haven't heard any squawks from my old stomping ground, and they tend to flood pretty easily.
Functioning muskets are pretty common in NJ, oddly enough. There are a lot of Revolutionary War re-enactors, including Scout groups that come out and do 21-gun salutes for major holidays and funerals and such. Also, there are muzzle-loader seasons for both deer and small game. Though no season for small boys, not even football season.

Shel, how are you doing with all the rain?

I'm glad to hear it.
I wonder how Creature and MsAnthropeMr are doing, hope they are OK too.
A New Jersey priest allegedly pointed a functioning musket at a young boy…
Couple things… First, I love the term "functioning musket." It would make a great steampunk band name.
Also, "functioning musket?" Is that what the priest calls his… thing?

What's the big deal? The priest was just threatening to send the kid to Heaven.
