Thanksgiving appears to be partly cloudy and rain-free, the weather service said.
Good–as long as I can do the Turkey Trot without getting rained on, I'll accept being drowned by the ocean later. That'll save me the trouble of watching the next GOP debate…
Mine is in DTLA (downtown Los Angeles for the unpretentious.) The 10K doesn't start until 8:30 AM, making it one of the later morning runs I've ever done, thankfully…
It's all good. Less traffic on the actual holiday, and I doubt if it will snow enough to do much damage. I've got snow tires and chains, if necessary. Dinner at the Furnace Creek Ranch with a friend who works there, then off to Vegas Friday for the Dead and Company shows. My kind of holiday celebration, sans drama.

Cally, where is that? Not that I'll drive down there for it, but there's a million Turkey Trot runs everywhere this time of year.

Ah. I just found the web site and the course map. Hilly.
Yeah…I'm not expecting to PR in this race. I'll settle for burning off maybe a third of the calories I eat (my friends are good cooks!)
King Tides can be bad (and there's a worldwide |Photo documentation project you can join locally, | but those Hepola Tides are the worst.
Heptides.
+10
I'll be far away from any tides, but I'll be driving over some mountains tomorrow on my way to Furnace Creek. Snow could mess with my plans, big time.
OUCH…I'm glad I don't have to drive tomorrow. Good luck!

"The King of Tides" was a terrible sequel.
If the tides reach AZ., I'll letcha know.
Never heard of them called 'King tides' before.
Nice!
A particularly cool greek god in a zoot suit.
