    I fear, though, that some GOP staffer has already started a draft for a law that would prevent this kinda of thing from spreading.

  2. Any extraction technology, should, in a "developed" country, be required to fund economic diversification, education and training for the region, because some day, the mine or well will dry up, and then you turn into Appalachia, or worse. Not that when the mine is over life is all peaches and cream.

  3. It's a sad day that a slap on the wrist charge (5 bucks says he never serves a day in jail) is seen as such great progress.
