If I can't have an intercontinental ballistic missile with a multiple independently-targeted re-entry vehicle warhead, the Second Amendment means nothing!
Talking to some Italian friends this morning. The 95-year-old father of one of them has a few gunz at home, registered of course as are all firearms in la bella Italia, and the carabinieri come around every five years or so to check and see if you still have them. Because this guy is so old, he also has to have a medical exam (and not by his own doc) to show he's still competent to own weapons.
Seems perfectly reasonable to me, as it does to the old guy's daughter. She asked me why if we could get rid of slavery we can't get rid of gunz, or at least manage them sensibly. I was forced to remind her of the Late Unpleasantness 1861-65.
