So if a college student thinks this is a real shooting and responds by opening fire on the pretend shooters, does that make him a good guy with a gun or a bad guy with a gun?

Seriously. I want everyone to remember their college days. Got it? Now imagine every idiot they knew – the guys who threw up on their dates at the parties, the ones who passed out in the quad with no memory of the previous 2 days, the girls who went into an existential emotional tail spin and egged the Dean of Athletics Office because the football team wouldn't allow that freshman girl to try out – and convince me nothing bad would happen if every one of these people was carrying a loaded gun at all times.
Please. This I need to hear.

This is the worst idea I've ever heard, displacing live Peter Pan starring Allison Williams.
Or, worse yet. Remember the anti-Vietnam War riots on campuses. Could you imagine Kent State X 1000?
These fucking gun nuts need to be marginalized to the <5% they are. I haven't met anybody yet who wants guns, guns, guns everywhere, all the time. This is the worst tyranny of the minority evah — albeit a very successful propaganda and lobbying campaign by the NRA, et. al,
UT Chancellor McRaven, former SEAL and four star Navy admiral, thinks that ""having another armed individual in the middle of an active shooter profile, in some cases could create more confusion than helping to resolve the problem." Obviously a soft-headed liebrawl.

How could this possibly go wrong?

He should just resign.
I'm just thankful they picked a campus where no high profile mass shooting ev… oh, the University of Texas? Nevermind.
Same as weejee's response. Could you imagine a bunch of yahoos shooting up at Charles Whitman??!?
From what I understand, yahoos actually did do that. Ineffectively. The police were the ones who took him out.
Exactly.
