    1. sadly, the first commenter got it right "ir’s (sic) because twitter didnt have a 48 hour bitch fest like after odell beckham. NFL punishment is correlated with how much negative social media coverage the incident generated"

Fact is- either the officials should have stepped in during the Carolina game right away and brought down the hammer on both of them or they should have either fined both Beckham and Norman or suspended both of them. That shit was going on for the entire game and they did nothing to stop it. Throw however many flags you need to, toss Odell out if you have to, but the punishment should have affected that game, not the next one and certainly not just one of the two participants- especially this close to the playoffs. Beckham's suspension has major implications for the Vikings chances this week, as does Norman's lack of suspension for their undefeated season (though it would probably take more than that for the hapless Falcons). Meanwhile, the Jets and Chiefs might have something to say about this non suspension for Wallace.

    1. Moving teams is complete anathema to me. The English FA tried that shit with my team, unfortunately, as a guinea pig.
Fortunately it didn't go well – although we lost our team, we built a new one from scratch, and eventually gained our league place back.
Nobody's tried that again – ours was allegedly a 'unique solution to a unique problem'. The "new" team that stole our league place is still treated with contempt across the English soccer fandom.

SHORTER: If Vancouver stole any team from another city, I would not support them one bit. I appreciate there's a different mentality about this in North American sports (and you don't have promotion and relegation up and down a 'pyramid') but if your local sportsball team is shit, then tough: plough money into it, or sell it.

    1. I hope Angelenos return the favor by doing what they do and (if they bother go to any games) leaving early to hit the sack because they are all morning people.

      1. I'm hoping the stadium will be full of fans for the visiting team. I know that if this shit comes to pass, I'm definitely wearing black and gold when my Steelers visit, and I'll have lots of company FFS…

      1. Fuck no, they'll beat the Eagles at home in a heartbreaking bullshit stupid nailbiter where Deer In Headlights (is that racist?) can't audible [because apparently nobody can in a Tyrant Kelly offense] and the shit comes down to clock management. That's what I'm calling. (But Who knows what Iggles team will show up?) I can only hope for a mediocre but somewhat effective offense and a fuck-you Brady defense.

    1. Pittsburgh clinches a playoff spot with:
      1) PIT win + NYJ loss

Assuming we don't blow it (and the angry birds would love to knock us down), this means I have to root for New England. Eww…

    1. That's sad.. I remember when the Eagles were in the Super Bowl in '81 we had a nice green cake, but Matuszak and Lester Somebody.. wait. Hayes! Lester Hayes (had to look it up) made sure it wouldn't happen. I wanna say Fuck Oakland Forever, but somehow came to appreciate their ridiculously devoted fanbase in recent times.

  2. And since I've got friends coming over for dinner, I'll have to miss the end of this one. I really hope against hope that neither one of these teams leaves the cities where they belong to come here FFS.

    Merry Christmas, everyone!
