Hmm… I was under the impression that the lease on Guantanamo was for 99 years from the 1930's.
It now seems to be, basically, in perpetuity – and with Castro's government not cashing any of the rent checks since 1959.
I really thought that it was a set lease – and even if the Cuban Government cashed any of the checks, the US would get to rent the entire Bay for $4,000 a year.
In effect, the Pentagon get to carry out their war crimes for free. Wow.
