        1. That's what……….never mind……..
Anyway, I never got that close. Perspective is kinda weird at The Big Ditch . Ya got this gaping chasm and nothing but blue sky above, and this bird soaring. Once it turned the right way and I could see white/black I just zoomed and started snapping.

          1. Careful now.

Biggest birds I see are Baldies, Vultures (Black and Turkey) and Great Horned Owls and I see 'em all the time. Bald Eagles and Great Horned Owls look 5 times as big as they really are when you're up close, though.

          2. I have great respect for what a GHO can do to meat -based creatures if so inclined. But never really feared them……but also was never silly enough to climb a tree and look at chicks in a nest either.
A golden eagle is one that freaked me out. Only seen a few at distance until one day walking across an open field doing some kinda plant survey and I thought a B-52 was flying over. All I could say was , "Big. B-b-b-b-ig bird."

          3. the time to fear a GHO is if you have a kitty or a small dog for a pet, because they'll swoop in and carry them right out of your backyard

  1. Well, I coulda used FUCKING!!!
[ Don't worry about him. I have pictures of him and Ms. Costa the algebra teacher, in the supply room. ]
