  1. Sorry for posting this so early, but I have to meet family for dinner at 5 (because my aunt and uncle like to eat dinner insanely early, but at least that means I'll be home in time for the Packer game).

  2. I'd love to see the Packers pull off the upset.

Ditto for the Chiefs, though this delay of game penalty on third and goal isn't a good sign…

  3. What, exactly, is the Clay Matthews Drinking Game? Drink every time they show him dousing his luxurious locks on the sideline? Drink every time he makes a tackle? Drink every time he misses a tackle? Asking for a friend.

    1. Drink everytime I get jealous that his hair is nicer than mine…

…no, scratch that, I'd pass out in the first quarter and I want to see this game.

      1. I once overheard a couple of ladies in their 60s talking about Clay in a Wisconsin antique mall. (Yes, I went antiquing. I was with my parents.) One of them said, "Clay Matthews is a Greek god!" True story.

        1. That is probably why you can get 21 different Fathead Clay Matthewses. The disembodied enormous head is my fave, although it does not show his luxurious locks.

    1. Totally OT, but I just read that NYT column you posted about the destruction of progressive Wisconsin. Fuck Scott Walker with a chainsaw of votes and failures to get a position as a FOX News talking head FFS…

    1. Go, Steelers! (Mostly because I could not stand another "Manning vs. Brady" matchup, but still…) Go, Steelers!

    1. That was a fuck of a TD pass. Good thing my dogs were walked on the later side this afternoon because I'm not going anywhere!

    1. They do seem to have a particular talent for getting you to let down your guard, get your hopes up… and then crush your heart into dust.

  4. Someone posted on the twits that the Packers have lost 7 playoffs games under McCarthy, and, of those, 5 were lost on the last play of the game. I knew I wasn't imagining it.

  5. Sorry, Shel. Thought the Cards' D was going to win this game easy, but strangely, it came down to two "olds" connecting and not breaking any hips/knees/craniums. An Iggles fan for sure, though I do love me some Fitz.

  6. As a 68-year-old Packer fan, let me just say "FUCK". However, as a realist:

    1. I'm pleasantly surprised it was this close. And fucking entertaining.

    2. Although I am a fan of Fitz, and would like to see him finally get a ring, I doubt that the Cards will get past next weekend.

    3. There are actually people on the Acme Packing Company site complaining that McCarthy should have gone for two. I am at a loss as to how to respond. Probably the best course is "don't".

    1. As for number 3… it used to be that you were expected to have a basic understanding of game tactics and strategies to be a Packer fan. That is just embarrassing. I am going to assume those are bandwagon fans.

  7. Hey guys, I'm watching the game on tape delay in Eastern Europe.
I can't believe the Hail Mary worked! Looks like the Packers may pull this one off.

    Sigh…
