Re: "Veggetti" thing that came up a month or more ago. I had a look at some reviews and ended up getting a different version with better reviews. There seem to be a lot of them around, but this one had extra blades and a cleaning brush and stuff.
You can probably buy it on the .com version, but plenty of options.
This one was smaller than expected, although I bought the "50% larger" one. Christ knows what the Veggetti looks like. Still a decent size – lots of grip, and the zucchini came out fantastically a couple of times now. There are extra blades for thickness of strips, or even one for slicing, which is nice.
Carrots, not so much – although I probably need to buy thicker ones… the bag of spindly ones I had definitely doesn't work… far easier to grate them tbh, but it'd be nice to do carroty noodles.
NB Whatever veg you use, you end up with a 'core' coming through the other end, so there is some waste, but just for creating a pasta/noodles substitute-type zucchini, this is worth the price alone.
Quick, little mess, I'll probably get one in the UK too now.
Overall: 8.5/10 (extra point for the blades and credit-card-sized multi-use gizmo)
My apologies, I thought this was a gag. If it does work that well for that price I'll take another look at it. I need as much knife practice as any one but I'll take shortcuts whenever I can!
I have one of these. Not the one in the link above, which looks kinda shitty, but more like |this one.| It's actually an incredibly handy kitchen tool. If you google "spiralize" or whatever, there are lots of blogs where people put up recipes using this device.
There are also more robustly made ones out there for the hard core spiraling crowd.
50% Less Wastage. That alone is a good recondemnation.
I was going to mark them down for the "150% Larger" bit too, but nobody seems to understand percentages and numbers-type stuff these days.

Nice! Does it come with a few old crones sitting and knitting by the side of it, or do you have to buy them separately?
